Driving 1000 km on a Liter Fuel
Every year student teams from all over the world get together to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon event, aimed at bringing down transport fuel needs for a one man vehicle (often driven by a small light-weight female). In 2014 200 teams will join. Typical vehicle weight: 55 kg (25 times less than an average European car). Typical speed: 30 kmh.
World record: 3688 km on one liter of gasoline by the French team Microjoule/La Joliverie
