December Wind Energy Record in Germany

unwetter-gewitter_13[source]

December was a very stormy month in Germany, resulting in a all-time record wind energy harvest of 8.9 billion kwh. That’s 3.5 kwh per person per day! Don’t be surprised if in a few years time, Windkraft alone could in the dark stormy winter months be able to completely cover the needs of all German households. In comparison, nuclear power stations produced 8.0 billion kwh in the same month. Many new offshore wind parks will go online this year, so expect this record to be broken soon.
