Bulgaria Smells Its Second Chance

south_stream

Vladimir Putin has always preferred South-Stream over Turk-Stream. The foolish Turkish action of shooting down a Russian jet over Syria last week has provided a huge second chance for Bulgaria to finally fight for its own interests as well as those of Europe.

South-Stream was cancelled last year because midgets like Juncker and Merkel are despicable servants of Washington and unworthy to lead Europe.

Dear Bulgaria… go talk with Putin and announce that Russia and Bulgaria will build the pipeline regardless of what said midgets will say. Deep in their cowardly little hearts they will be glad that the pipeline will be built anyway and that they don’t have to stand up against the Great Satan, an action for which they lack the spine.

Bulgaria, nobody is going to bomb you. Yes, they are going to call you names, just like the US called the French ‘cheese eating surrender monkeys‘ when they refused to obey the US and didn’t join the Iraq safari. Who cares what this former European colony of three centuries says?

[novinite.com] – Bulgaria Backs Nord Stream-2, Standing Up for Own Gas Hub Project (30 November)

Bulgaria is also determined that its gas hub proposal – one under which a gas distribution center should be set up at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast – should be embraced by Russia and the EU.

“I still think that the gas distribution center, or the hub, or whatever you call it, in Bulgaria, one that should received liquefied gas [LNG] and Russian gas, and also gas from our [Bulgaria’s] deposits, is a big reality [sic!],” the Bulgarian News Agency quotes him as saying.

This position is “beneficial for Bulgaria” and the government should not be reproached by it, he added.

That’s the spirit! Now, don’t be timid, you don’t need the EU to ’embrace’ it, simply implement it! Brussels’ role in life is there to be humiliated, by the US (Nuland: “Fuck the EU”), by the Eastern Europeans who refuse to take in male Islamic time bombs just because George Soros wants that to happen. Nobody is going to bomb Hungary or Poland for it. So, build this pipeline!

[reuters.com] – Bulgaria backs Nord Stream gas extension

Nov 30 Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov said on Monday his government supported Russia’s plans to extend its gas link to Germany… “I will defend the position for the construction of Nord Stream II and (a) gas hub in Bulgaria – it is advantageous for the country and nobody can reproach me for that,” Borisov told reporters… Bulgaria has proposed the facility be built near the city of Varna – where the South Stream pipes were supposed to come out of the Black Sea – and has said it would cooperate with Russia to build a pipe to the Bulgarian coast.

Bulgaria Wants to See South Stream Built

southstream

Vladimir Putin’s sudden and unilateral decision to drop South Stream has been a major hit for Bulgaria.

Instead of bypassing Ukraine via Bulgaria and bringing Russian gas directly to southeastern Europe, the gas, he said, will be sent to Turkey under a project named Turkish Stream. In his words, Bulgaria had lost an opportunity to earn €400 million in annual gas transit fees and billions in investment.

The general opinion among Bulgarians is that Bulgaria and its people were simply used as the “pawn” in the chess power game of the EU/US vs Russian gas interests…

“We cannot turn the page on South Stream until Russia’s stance is made clear,” insisted Minister of Economy Bozhidar Lukarski referring to the fact that Bulgaria so far hasn’t received an official note from Russia about the cancellation of the pipeline.

Editor: what we do know is that Russia would much prefer building South Stream than Turk Stream, as Europe is hands down the best customer, paying the highest prices. And then there is the issue of shared destiny, something that the US wants to prevent at all cost. Many high-ranking politicians, like Gabriel, Juncker, Schroeder and others have expressed their hope that some day South Stream could be built after all. It is a matter of standing up against the imperial overlord and getting rid of the idiot of Berlin.

No Peak Car Yet

peak-car-not

Predicting is easy, being right a different matter altogether. Many voices said that peak car was in 2008, coinciding with the Lehman crash. Apparently, a somewhat recovering economy and more important collapsed fuel prices, growing population as well as more fuel efficient cars, have made that Americans are driving more miles than ever before.

Ukraine Shut Off From Gas

ukraine-weather
Max. temperatures Ukraine, November 25, 2015: 3 degrees Celcius = 37 degrees Fahrenheit

Russia has decided to halt gas deliveries to Ukraine. Reason: Ukraine is too far behind with its payments. But the recent sabotage of electricity cables into Crimea could also play a role.

Poor Ukrainians. In their cold homes they now have a lot of time to contemplate if that Euro-Maidan circus was really worth it. Russia has gas, Europe doesn’t. And Nuland-USA is only interested in Ukraine in as much it can be used to generate conflict with Russia, just like Poland in 1939 was used by the US to generate conflict with Germany. Perhaps you Ukrainians can keep yourselves warm by waving the EU-flag in your freezing living room.

Alternatively you could of course make a U-turn and kick Porky out of office and make up with Russia again. You can still associate with Europe, Mother Russia won’t mind, as long as NATO is kept out. Oh and Crimea is gone for ever.

The Case For Peak Oil (Now)

JODI-World-TotalThis is it? Peak oil 2015?

After kjell Aleklett yet another voice who claims that ‘peak oil’ (=point in time where the world’s oil production will reach a historic maximum) is now. World oil production increased over the last two years thanks to shale oil production. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Russia, USA and Canada were mostly responsible for the production increase over the past ten years.

The rest combines it 5 million barrel/day less since 2005:

The author concludes:

I am more convinced than ever that 2015 will be the final peak in world oil production. And we may know well before a lot of people realize.

Eastern Europe Wants to Sabotage New Baltic Pipelines

ticker_nordstream_body_a.4624578

The North Stream pipeline Vyborg-Greifswald, directly connecting Russia with Germany, is apparently a success, now that the operators (Gazprom, E.ON, Shell, BASF, OMV and ENGIE) of that pipeline want to build a new one next to the existing pipeline. Planned completion date 2019. Reason: switching to gas to reduce CO2 emission. Additionally, the Russian openly admit that they want to circumvent notorious unreliable behavior of Ukraine.

Countries like Ukraine, the Baltic states and Poland are not amused and have announced that they will resist the new pipeline. It is easy to understand why, because the new pipeline will make superfluous existing pipelines running though countries with an anti-Russian attitude, most of all Ukraine and Poland and thus deprive these countries from a lucrative source of income. For Ukraine 2 billion $ are at stake. The Baltic states are not directly involved (no pipelines over their territory), but they are afraid that the pro-US block {Ukraine-Poland-Baltic States} could be sidelined by a Russian-German understanding (editor: go for it, Russia/Germany!).

Too bad for the Eastern Europeans, but the economic interests for Germany, France, Holland and Austria are simply too great. The outcome of the struggle between these countries on the one hand and USA and Eastern Europe on the other will determine the energy-future of Europe.

The First Kilowatthour

solar-panels

Solar panels where installed earlier this week and despite grey November weather, today the first kWh is produced, meaning the energy required to pull a standard car up the Eiffel tower.

[deepresource] – One Kilowatthour

The panels should generate 1.5 times the electricity required on a yearly basis, for a relatively modest standard consumption pattern to power desktop computer + monitor, fridge, freezer and television. The converter has a build-in wifi and can send the solar production data via the internet router to a server. Via a browser actual and cumulative data can be displayed, see screenshot above.

Additionally, the smart meter bridging the household with the grid operator also has a wifi, enabling to read consumption data, see iPhone-6 screen shot below.

stroommeter

In other words, at 11 o’clock on a half-clouded morning in November, the panels already produce more than is consumed. The rest is fed into the grid.

Later this month a gardening center will deliver a few m3 compost to upgrade the soil of the garden, that next season will be fully utilized for food production.

[deepresource] – Not in my Backyard?

Next prepping investment will be focused on producing ‘hot air’. The idea is to install 8 or so 100*165 cm solar panels (for electricity) against a palisade and additionally put glass plates in front of them, leaving a space of 5-10 cm. The panels are black and hence absorb all radiation. 10-15% will be converted into electricity, the rest into hot air that can be pumped into the living room with simple desktop computer ventilator.

*** UPDATE ***

After 13:00 MET the sun began to shine, 2.15 kwh on one November day with only two hours of sunshine.

Sino-Myanmar Pipelines

china-pipelines[source]Sino-Burma pipelines refers to planned oil and natural gas pipelines linking Burma’s deep-water port of Kyaukphyu (Sittwe) in the Bay of Bengal with Kunming in Yunnan province of China. The Myanmar section of the gas pipeline was completed on 12 June 2013 and gas started to flow to China on 21 October 2013. The oil pipeline was completed in Aug, 2014. The oil pipeline will have a capacity of 12 million tonnes of crude oil per year. The gas pipeline will allow delivery of natural gas from Burma’s offshore fields to China with an expected annual capacity of up to 12 bcm of natural gas.

On the 29th of January, China opened, with little fanfare, a new oil link through Myanmar… This 2,400km long pipeline runs through some of the most rugged areas on the planet, marked by jagged hills and ridges and dense jungle… The new route however, has one invaluable advantage in eyes of Chinese leaders: it bypasses the Malacca straits, whose infamous waters are infested with pirates… The pipeline shortens the distance the oil will have to travel by sea to reach China by 700 miles. It also cuts by 30% the time this liquid black gold will take to get to the Middle Kingdom… Avoiding the Malacca detour had the other, even more invaluable advantage in the eyes of the Chinese leadership. With 80% of all imported hydrocarbons to China going through the Malacca sea-route, China is vulnerable to having its overseas energy supplies blockaded by the American 6th Fleet during a Sino-U.S. geopolitical crisis… Another even bigger behemoth project is now in the works, a railway line is being discussed, which will follow the route taken by the pipelines. This project has a price tag of $20 billion dollars and would allow China to more easily import Burma’s precious wood and all sorts of other commodities, while also facilitating the flow of Chinese workers to the coast.

German Energy Giant E-ON Suffers Massive Losses

eon[source]

Energy giant E-ON has suffered a loss of 5 billion euro over the first nine months of 2015. Main reason: depreciation of their gas and coal power stations.

Editor: der Spiegel doesn’t say so, but it is obvious that now that Germany is able to generate 33% of its electricity from renewable sources, installed over the past decade or two, fossil fuel based electricity production is simply cornered by wind and solar. This is good news.

Der Spiegel Proposes to Let VW Go Bust

Auslieferung_von_Phaeton_Passat_CC_und_Touareg

Der Spiegel represents US and not German interests and as such is the enemy within, a Trojan Horse. In a latest move to undermine the economic strength of Germany, the neo-bolsheviks from Hamburg propose that the German government should let the flagship of the German economy Volkswagen go bust and found a new state-run company that should concentrate on e-mobility.

It is likely that parasitic US laywers, governments and what not, will exploit the occasion to do as much damage as possible to their German competitor and will treat the hapless company as an undefended German town in 1944 by night. Predictably the readers comments section begs to disagree.

But the future of VW doesn’t look very good indeed.

Germany Electricity 2015 – 33% Renewable

lower-saxony-wind[source] Lower-Saxony, Germany

Some good news from Germany for a change: in 2015 the country will generate 33% of its electricity from renewable sources. This is up from 27% last year, a massive increase. At this growth rate, Germany could generate electricity 100% renewable by 2027.

Total amount of renewable generated electricity: 193 billion kwh or 55 billion euro against end consumer prices (28.8 cent/kwh).

On Saturday July 25, 2015, 78% of Germany’s electricity needs were covered by renewable sources, a new record.
