Amprius Presents 500Wh/kg Lithium-Ion Battery

Massive breakthrough by US company Amprius: 500 Wh/kg & 1300 Wh/liter lithium-ion battery. This is about as twice as good as the Tesla battery. Amprius is building a GW-scale factory in Colorado to market their product by 2025.

BYD Launches Cheap Sodium-Ion E-Car

Chinese car manufacturer BYD has launched a cheap e-vehicle with a sodium-ion battery. Sodium-ion has many advantages over lithium-ion:

– no mining polution
– no scarcity problem
